How do I book an appointment?
Click on any button that says "Book Now" on our website. From our booking site (gloss genius) you can search by professional or service. Once you select one you will see a calendar with open spots. *If you are a new client a credit card is required to book your appointment - no charges will be made - only in the event that we need to charge a cancellation fee. No charges will be made without you being advised.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
Yes, if you cancel or reschedule within 48 hours of your appointment you will be charged a $25 fee to compensate the practitioner for their time.
How much do you tip for services?
Many clients are unsure if and/or how much they should tip their massage therapist. We recommend you tip 18%-25% depending on your level of satisfaction with your service. Think of your practitioner as you would a hair stylist/barber, nail technician, or a waiter in a restaurant. Our Center's practitioners love what they do, and your tip may reflect your direct appreciation for their service. We recommend tipping percentages be based on the full price of a regular massage, rather than the discounted price.
Do you accept insurance?
At this time we do NOT accept insurance. However, you can speak to your insurer to check if you can submit an invoice to be reimbursed and if so, please let us know you need to be provided an invoice and we will email you one right away.
What do I wear to my service? Loose fitting, comfortable clothing is usually best. There is no right or wrong answer here, but wearing what is most comfortable, easiest to take off and put back on (if applicable) is usually best.
What should I do prior to my appointment to prepare? You will receive an email to fill out a client intake/health history form. They may also ask more in-depth questions to establish which areas you would like focused on, or if there are any specific conditions needing to be addressed. It is important to list all health concerns and medication so that your therapist can adapt your session to your specific needs without causing any harm. It is also important to specify any allergies so that your therapist may adjust the oil or cream being used during your visit.
Can I drink alcohol before or after a service? Our services are relaxing. Drinking can be relaxing, too. But drinking and massage, do NOT mix well and for a number of reasons. We suggest a nice cup of tea with honey and/or lemon. For more info: https://www.zeel.com/blog/lifestyle/your-best-massage/mixing-alcohol-and-massage/
Does Massage Therapy hurt?In general, massage therapy should not hurt. In fact, if you are in "pain" during a massage, this may cause your muscles to seize up, making the therapeutic effects more difficult to achieve. If the pressure is too intense, speak up immediately so your therapist can adjust and guide you through the techniques. Certain techniques may result in soreness during the days following a massage, similar to that of a great workout, but in general, you should not have pain during or after your massage.
Can I workout before or after a massage? Before: A workout prior to your session should not be an issue. The massage will actually help move along the lactic acid left from you exercising. We only suggest proper stretching when you are finishing working out. After: We recommend clients to avoid strenuous exercise the day of your massage and for at least 24 hours after the session. Exercising after a session can both increase muscle soreness and compromise the value of the soft-tissue work you’ve just received. “Strenuous exercise" includes activities such as running, weight lifting, high intensity aerobics, or power yoga classes. Light exercise such as moderate walking, gentle stretching, or swimming laps at an easy pace is OK for healthy individuals. Massage on connective tissue makes it more gel-like (thixotropic state). This state of increased softness lasts about 24 hours, so high-intensity exercise may pull or move the tissue back to old patterns or even induce new strain patterns.
What is Reiki Healing?Reiki Healing is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.
Do I have to be completely undressed for a service? Massage- You may undress to your level of comfort. Many people prefer to keep their underwear on during a massage, while others choose to be nude. Your massage therapist will leave the room so you can undress and get on the massage table under a top sheet. Regardless if you choose to maintain some clothing or not, your massage therapist will always ensure that you are always properly covered and appropriately undraped for the area they are working on according to our state laws.Reiki Healing and Fork Tuning- You can remain dressed and will be on the top of the table coverings.Craniosacral Therapy- it will depend on your "problem are". Please bring a pair of shorts and a tank top or sports bra to your appointment
Do I have to talk during my service? Some people enjoy having a conversation during their massage others prefer to have silence - we let you lead the way. Keep in mind, the service is all about you releasing your tensions and enjoying the experience. Most clients are quiet during reiki healing, as they are concentrating or meditating deeply. Regardless of your choice, be sure to speak up during the service if there is anything you’d like adjusted - temperatures, music and its volume, lighting, conversation or not, pressure. Communication with your practitioner is very welcome and is a key to your service's success and effectiveness.
What if I fall asleep, snore or drool during my service(s)?It is very common for guests to fall asleep during their service. If you snore or drool, don’t worry, your TTWCrew member has definitely seen this before and absolutely will not judge. We love seeing you so relaxed, it is actually a compliment!
What does a Reiki Healing session feel like?A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and well-being. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
How is a Reiki Healing session administered? In a standard treatment Reiki energy flows from the practitioners hands into the client. The client is laying on the table and is fully clothed. The practitioner places her/his hands on or near the clients body in a series of hand positions. These include positions around the head and shoulders, the stomach, and feet. Other, more specific positions may be used based on the clients needs. Each position is held for three to ten minutes depending on how much Reiki the client needs at each position.
